Afghan BTR 70

This was a quick build done in one week in order to try out some of the AK Interactive acrylic paints. I had already used these paints on a model of the JS 3, using the HS technique. I wanted to use a different technique on this model, the sponge technique.
Since the paints have a satin finish to them and not a dead flat finish as with the Tamiya paints, it takes a bit of work to get realistic rust effects. As with any type of painting tech practice is important, so I'll take the lessons learned on this model and apply them to the next build.

The model is an old Dragon kit built OOTB and mounted on a very basic base and groundwork.








This build was so much fun that I plan on doing more of the graveyard tanks in the future.
